Shari Baldinger, M.S., Certified Genetic Counselor. Certified by the American board of Medical Genetics (1982) and the American Board of Genetic Counseling (Charter Member – 1993)
B.A. in Biology – Washington University, St. Louis, 1974 M.S. in Genetics and Cell Biology – University of Minnesota, 1979
Currently: Coordinator of Genetic Counseling Services at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis (since 1981). Provides counseling services for high-risk pregnancy clinic, developed the testing/counseling program at the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute; and provides consultative services for the assisted reproductive technology program. Belongs to the ART special interest group of the Nat’l Society of Genetic Counselors
Also provides consultative services for Children’s Health Care – Minneapolis (cleft and craniofacial clinic, neonatal intensive care unit, peds. Hematology/oncology, etc.). Teaches in the University of Minnesota Genetic Counseling graduate program and medical school.
Was involved in establishing the Minnesota Genetic Services Program at the University of Minnesota and in initiating genetic counseling services at HCMC, United Hospital, Park Nicollet and the Fairview system.
